I came to my site today to 'catch up' and when I got to this page it was blank! Hmmmm I guess when you are not doing what you had planned to do, what you had hoped to do, it leaves a blank space...
The summer is more than half over and I made little to no progress on my 'health program.' I haven't been going to the pool every day, rarely these past couple weeks. I did go at least 5 days a week for a couple weeks.
Oh there are many excuses, even some reasons. The weather for sure. Rain and lightning abounded for weeks. Now the rain is scattered and sparse but the heat and humidity... well it IS August in Florida! But should not keep me from the pool.
I did drag the elliptical out of the back room and did get on it a couple times.... should be using it daily! I have the equipment, I have written exercises from physical therapy for my back pain, etc. So why??
Using my age is not an excuse! But as I find myself getting older, and fatter, I find it much harder to motivate myself to actually DO what I dream of.
Last year I took the stairs at the ballpark and by the end of the season my legs were doing good. That and jogging in the pool made a huge difference!! This season the elevator was too handy.
Eating right is another thing. Hard to do when the food at the ballpark is sooo delicious! When the checkbook is bare and the larder is even more bare. Not to mention I find myself looking for something easy and quick, not really wanting to cook and certainly not wanting to turn on the oven. YIKES!! And then there is the fact that fast food is getting so much cheaper and easier than cooking.... I have been staying away from the 'white' stuff, mostly. Eating more veggies and fruit too..
My good intentions for the summer have been left by the wayside.
