Dear Lord,
You are so amazing! You are the ultimate creator! You made me with so much love. You fill me with so much love that it spills out over everyone I know and meet. And the best part is the awesome love I get in return. I cannot thank you enough for my two little babies. They mean so much to me. I pray I never have to be without them. Thank you for the amazing People at the Wahoos and being able to attend all the games. I get so much love there and am able to share your love with new people every day. What a blessing that is . Thank you for my church family and the blessing of Richard and Mary and living in their house. I thank you for every day I open my eyes and am able to get out of bed, pain or no pain. I know there is a reason for my 'suffering' but all I can do is just keep going on. Please be with all those on my prayer list, especially my family. And touch me with your healing hand. Amen The evening of Fat Tuesday brings to an end another round of amazing Mardi Gras parades. I only attended 2 this year but I have watched all I could from Mobile, Alabama. I hope to make it to more next year, God Willing and the creek don't rise. In February of 2001 I met my beloved Oscar in person during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We had so much fun. He was 69 and I was 60 but we were so in love and acted like teenagers. I felt like a teenager.
We were staying in the home of our friend Birdie, who was amazingly gracious to us. The parade route was only 4 or 5 blocks from her house.. and for 3 nights we walked down there and had a blast. When we moved to Pensacola I was thrilled to discover that the Mardi Gras parade was part of the tradition here also. I will dig through my thumb drives and find more pictures for you. The slide show is this year, 2016. I went by myself as I have for the past 5 years since Oscar died, except one year when my sistr and bro in law came with friends and I caught up with them at the parade. |
